Home Heating Oil Bill Assistance 2026-2027

The governor of Massachusetts declared a state of emergency due to current high heating costs and announced new and expanded benefits to help middle and lower income families pay their oil bills this winter.

 

Fuel Assistance: is a free resource, offered by Making Opportunity Count in partnership with the Department of Housing and Community Development, to help eligible households pay a portion of winter heating bills.

Middle Income Heating Oil Relief: is a new program to help middle income households, who do not quality for Fuel Assistance, pay their winter heating bills. Eligible household will qualify for a one time payment of up to $680. Applications open in December.
